The Boeing P-8A Poseidon is a military aircraft that is currently in development for the U.S. Navy. This aircraft was designed to conduct anti-submarine warfare, to engage in shipping interdiction and to play a role in cutting-edge electronic intelligence (ELINT). The Poseidon will carry torpedoes, depth charges and harpoon anti-shipping missiles, and will have the ability to drop and monitor sonobuoys.
