The Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey is a tiltrotor aircraft capable of both vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), and short takeoff and landing (STOL). This military aircraft combines the high-speed performance of a turboprop aircraft with the conventional capabilities of a helicopter to achieve mission capabilities unlike any other aircraft. Bell Helicopter and Boeing Rotorcraft Systems jointly developed and manufactured the aircraft for the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force.
