Curtiss-Wright is a leading supplier of open systems architecture-based in-vehicle networking and computing solutions for the Ground Defense market. Our rugged Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) building blocks help customers rapidly deploy today’s most advanced commercial electronics and support the critical applications our warfighters need most. We offer a broad selection of SWaP-C-optimized COTS Line Replaceable Modules (LRMs) and fully integrated Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). Products range from solutions for high performance C4ISR applications to cost-sensitive compact mission computers and network switches. We are committed to open standards, value, and reliability to help the warfighter do their job.

To address the rigorous needs of the ground defense market, Curtiss-Wright provides advanced drive technology, rugged embedded computing technology and sophisticated electronic upgrades for improved battlefield performance. Curtiss-Wright’s advanced Fire Control Processors (FCPs) are utilized in the Abrams M1A2 SEP and the latest generation of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Achieving swift but controlled positioning of the vehicle’s weapon and the rapid reloading of ammunition - all while driving cross-country over rugged terrain - requires a high degree of synchronization to maximize performance. That is why many of today’s most important combat vehicles – such as the current Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicle used by the British Army and the Hoefyster new generation infantry combat vehicle in South Africa – feature Curtiss-Wright’s electric turret drive aiming and stabilization systems. These systems provide high accuracy performance and fast turret slew rates to combat vehicles serving on the frontlines.

Curtiss-Wright is working closely with the US Army to bring VICTORY (Vehicular Integration for C4ISR/EW Interoperability)-compliant solutions to market. VICTORY helps modernize in-vehicle networks, reduce SWaP-C burdens, and foster inter-vehicle interoperability. Our VICTORY-compliant Digital Beachhead™ combines an Ethernet switch with a powerful Vehicle Management Computer to provide essential network services to ground vehicles. Our Parvus® family of small form factor LRUs – including Intel®-based mission computers and Cisco®-based network switches – delivers a small footprint, cost effective approach to add compact but uncompromising functionality to space constrained ground vehicles.

The ability of our technologies to enhance the safety and situational awareness of ground troops is not restricted to manned vehicles. Our sophisticated electronics also provide the processing performance required to support the U.S. Marine Corps’ Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) program, a multi-role radar system that benefits military forces through increased range, accuracy, tactical mobility and reliability.
